Frequently Asked Questions

Please contact us if your question is not displayed below and we will respond as soon as possible.

Are you a "real" school?

No

We do not operate under the structure of a traditional school. We are a Learning Academy. There are private instructors that personalize education towards the needs, goals and agenda of the child/parent.

Do you have "real" teachers?

Yes and No.

Our Head Tutor is a teacher (English, Maths, Sign-Language, Spanish).

Though she has always been a private tutor, she has worked with children enrolled in traditional schools, and she has also been Special Needs Certified at Erdiston Teachers’ Training College.

We offer opportunities to college students to “teach” material they are studying. (Community Intern Program)

Other facilitators may not be qualified teachers, but own businesses, and work in the field they are instructing.

Do you prepare for the Common Entrance, CXC, SAT or other standardized testing?

Yes

The Academy is prepared to assist students to meet any goal they are aiming to achieve.

Where are you located?

St. Philip

What ages do you work with?

The Academy currently works with children ages 4-11.

Private Tutoring is available to children ages 4-18.

Do you offer Financial Aid or Scholarships?

Currently, we do not have any financial assistance or scholarships available. However, we are working with community partners to be able to offer full or partial financial assistance to those in need.

Do you provide meals or transportation?

We do not provide meals.

Transportation will be provided for a nominal fee. However, this is still being developed. We will update this question when confirmed.

How does your grading system work?

The grading system is based on individual competition, therefore, your only competition is yourself. Depending on the goal, assessments will be designed on an individual basis. The students who are preparing for common entrance, or other standardized tests will be periodically assessed based on those tests.

Do you offer any discounts?

We offer discounted rates for siblings or family members from the same household. Currently, we have no other discounts available.
